京都の老舗染工場にて、熟練の職人が一点一点手作業で天然染めを施した、YOKO SAKAMOTOこだわりのデニムシリーズ。
本作では、日本古来より親しまれてきた蓬（ヨモギ）染めを採用。ほのかなグリーンを感じる落ち着いたグレートーンが特徴で、静けさの中に有機的な温かみを感じる色合いに仕上げています。天然染料ならではの不均一な染まりや揺らぎが、一点ごとに異なる表情を生み出し、着用とともにゆっくりと色が育ち、より深みのある風合いへと変化していきます。
素材には、岡山県の歴史ある機屋にて旧式のシャトル織機を用い、時間をかけて織り上げたセルビッチデニムを使用。1時間に数メートルしか織ることのできない織機だからこそ、糸に過度な負荷をかけず、綿本来の質感を最大限に引き出しています。撚りの回数や糸の形状にまでこだわり抜いた、唯一無二のテクスチャー。
シルエットは、全体にゆとりを持たせたリラックスフィット。肩や身幅に適度なゆとりを持たせることで、力の抜けたバランスと立体的なフォルムを両立しています。素材の存在感を引き立てる設計です。
襟周りや前立て裏にはセルビッチを使用し、ディテールにもクラシックな要素を採用。タックボタンには無塗装の鉄素材、リベットには銅メッキを施した鉄素材を使用しており、着用とともに錆びが生じ、より深みのある表情へと変化していきます。
素材・付属・経年変化まで一体として設計された、時間とともに完成していくデニムジャケット。

This denim series by YOKO SAKAMOTO is carefully dyed by hand, one piece at a time, at a long-established dyeing workshop in Kyoto.
This piece features a traditional Japanese mugwort (yomogi) dye. The color is expressed as a calm grey tone with a subtle hint of green, carrying an organic warmth within its quiet presence. As a natural dye, it carries slight irregularities and variations in tone, giving each piece a unique appearance. With wear over time, the color gradually develops and matures, gaining depth and richness.
The fabric is a selvedge denim woven in Okayama using vintage shuttle looms. These old machines produce only a few meters per hour, allowing the yarns to be woven without excessive tension, preserving the natural texture of carefully selected cotton. The number of twists and yarn structure have been meticulously refined, resulting in a truly distinctive texture.
The silhouette features a relaxed fit with generous room throughout. Ample space in the shoulders and body creates an effortless balance while maintaining a structured form, emphasizing the presence of the material.
Selvedge details are incorporated around the collar and inner placket, adding a classic touch. The tack buttons are made of untreated iron, while the rivets are copper-plated iron, both designed to develop rust over time, enhancing their depth and character with wear.
A denim jacket completed over time, where material, hardware, and aging are considered as a unified design.
